Memory

I sit in the corner of my room.
The feeling is overwhelming, my body is shaking,
The adrenaline is rushing and I stay sitting, scared, wanting to escape.
I hear a loud fierce voice echoing off the walls and the bang of objects hitting the floor.
I see my sister crying, yelling and trembling.
I see the door fly open, banging into the wall and the hole left behind.
I mark the angry, evil face standing behind and the boot that left the hole.
I see a man who I no longer can call a person but a monster.
I observe all the faces of anger and hurt.
I observe my mother and my sisters tears running down their face.
All these are from a moment in my life that changed everything and
Affected my family and I from then on.
I see, hear and feel as if it happened just yesterday.

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!
