One Night

The silvery moon shone threw her window
not to her delight, tonight of all nights.
Alone, but not  forgotten in any sense.
Wishing her hearts desire was close.

The aching in her bossum grew stronger
as if her heart was lain on top of her breasts.
Family and friends denied her access to him.
Her resolve was surely put to the test.

Where is the fairy godmother
to save her the pain and heartache.
She suffered in silence and with fortitude,
now as the hours slowly tick by.

Words had cut like a knife,
scaring the lover's heart,
tearing at her soul,
rendering her dead.

One thought of him
breathes new life into her,
the memories of one kiss shared
restores her heart beat.

The clock strikes midnight.
Steadfastly he waits in the garden
at the road house not so far away
where they first met .

Soon, she too will be there.
His promise to wait till then,
her vow to share the life
they both soon would have.

Ah, but not a dreamer's wish,
one she knew quite well
how to make happen
as she rent the blouse she wore.

Her mother's beloved cat
circled her feet like a jailer,
picking him up by the nap,
he reaches out and claws her.

With a knife in her hand
she plunges it in deep,
the blood covers her,
co-mingling with the scratch.

Flinging the cat out the window,
she screams like a banshe,
the knife falls to her side,
as she drops to the floor.

Soon feet are scamping,
the door unbolted,
voices screaming,
a light turned on.

Many a tear was lost,
all thoughts were hushed,
the look of death
was on her lovely face.

They knelt and plead,
words of pity were spoken,
then all departed the room,
lost in the grizzly scene.

She rose like the sun in the morn,
grabbed  her things and left.
No one to stop her now.
Soon, she danced in the garden.

owner of the picture- For The Heart I Once Had by Archania
To Romeo & Juliet - lovers not together on their day - With love it is said -that absence makes the heart grow fonder - so while you may not always be together physically when you want - your hearts are still there and love grows stronger so that what time you are together is sweeter and more precious.
Not being together on what is often called lover's day - does not mean what days you are is not also ' lover's day ' It is more symbolic then a necessity. Enjoy your time togther and make each day count like it is the last day you have together.

    My dear brother,
one can see and feel her desperate
need to be with her love.

    The cat as a jailor..
and how it was her moms
    beloved.. shows that the mom
did no longer really love her child.

To go to such length to be
    with the one you love..
    is what some hearts
    will do ...

~bows to the wisdom of my brother~

Thank YOU for your love & support

You saw the rue of the matter
some bemoan the death of the cat
but as jailer was as bad as the owner
this shows how far some will go when love is at stake
I'm not for animal abuse but also not for using animals are weapons as some people do.
      Thanks again

      Thank You

Desperate people will do desperite things and when left with no other options will do what they feel is necessary to find freedom.
It does paint a very vivid picture and shows how strong her love was.
Note the cat was her mother's beloved - and her jailer - so the cat was not her friend.
As for your Romeo & Juliet - my best to them - love finds a way
      Thanks again
