lazy English translation:

Once upon a time, there was a monk named Saint Pugnacious
Of whom there are still many disciples
Who are found in places where one is not efficacious
Unless by chance, and who furthermore teach huge classes.

Saint Pugnacious believed that the holiest thing
Was, whatever it was one did, to do the task
In the most involved fashion, not restrained,
To the end of making marvelous the laziest act.

The first miracle of Saint Pugnacious was
That which resounds still in the highest court,
The miracle, which rendered the credulous stupefied,
Of taking three days to brush his teeth!

Next Saint Pugnacious took inspiration from Jesus
Who fed masses with some fish,
Which he found very great, from which he conceived
That an entire school be eaten by a single monk.

The legacy of this saint is enormous because of
The diverse directions of mysterious currents
That his mouth let forth, as if for the poor,
Which makes our professors very busy.
