A Walk Around The Frozen Lake

As I walk a spherical path along the frozen pond,
the misty wind surrounds my body like an amethyst or velvet cloak.
Even in the darkness, there is a mystical beauty here.
The prison bars of this world can not touch me,
as I watch diamonds of snow fall from the lunar-brightened sky.
The caverns of the moon are illuminated from the gray stars,
as the leafless trees sway excitedly in their veil of icicles,
dress of ice, and smokey layers of rooted topaz lace.
The serenity of this runic solitude is paradise to me.
The howling of a far off animal can be heard off the horizons,
as the silhouette of my shadow is reflected off the crystal ground.
The moon beams from the water; I can say that I am one with this place.
We go together just as rhyme and poetry do.
This is where I come home.
