Waking up,
I open my eyes
To see you not here.
I pause for a moment.
Maybe I can still smell the scent of you.
Wishing madly,
“Come back to me”
I notice,
It all still seemed so real.
The touch of your hands,
The taste of your lips.
My heart pulsating madly,
Head screaming,
I”M IN LOVE
But still I lay here,
searching.
Eyes filled with tears,
I cry out your name
Why won’t you answer me?
Heart pounding in my chest,
I reach out for your soft touch.
Why won’t you come to me?
Sinking back into submission,
I realize,
You were never here.
I’ve wished and dreamt for you..
To be the person I want to have,
To touch me the way I want to be touched,
To kiss me the way I long to be kissed.
To make me scream out,
Heart pounding,
I love you
But still I’m here.
Alone.
I open my eyes
To see you not here.
I pause for a moment.
Maybe I can still smell the scent of you.
Wishing madly,
“Come back to me”
I notice,
It all still seemed so real.
The touch of your hands,
The taste of your lips.
My heart pulsating madly,
Head screaming,
I”M IN LOVE
But still I lay here,
searching.
Eyes filled with tears,
I cry out your name
Why won’t you answer me?
Heart pounding in my chest,
I reach out for your soft touch.
Why won’t you come to me?
Sinking back into submission,
I realize,
You were never here.
I’ve wished and dreamt for you..
To be the person I want to have,
To touch me the way I want to be touched,
To kiss me the way I long to be kissed.
To make me scream out,
Heart pounding,
I love you
But still I’m here.
Alone.
Author notes
This a poem that I wrote for my significant other that was taken from me Dec. 9th 2008. I may not fully understand why yet, but with time I'll come to realize that it was probably for the best.
-You had to die at such a young age, and I'm sorry that I took things for granted and wasn't there to tell you goodbye. I love you with all my heart sweetie!
