Unloved By All

I put my foot down
I finally made a stand
I’m running from the law
A burning pistol in my hand

Now I’m on the run
I didn’t think I could sink so low
But I’m in love with another man’s girl
And I just can’t let her go

I'm an outcast
This world's pushed me aside
For too long
My desires have been denied
So I sent a bullet to claim
What was meant to be mine

Only that woman
Could ever make me feel free
But now she’s crying
And it ain’t over me

Mercy from my fate
Is all that I pray
I’m heading down the St. Lawrence
Down to Hudson’s Bay
And those muddy waters
Will become my grave

How slowly we rise
How quickly we fall
I’m despised by the world
Still unloved by all

Now I’m on the run
And there’s only one place left to go
I was in love with another man’s girl
And I just couldn’t let her go

Author notes

This is my little answer to Long Black Veil; another dark and twisted love song.

Is the story clear enough?
