...
My ice cream cone fell in the sand
Without a blink you passed me yours
And told me not to sweat the little things
As seagulls flocked upon the shore.
I cannot help but feeling useless
As I watch you struggle with the eulogy
I wish I could give back all you taught me
and tell you not to sweat the little things.
But this is not so small, now is it
That it can be fixed with smiles and ice cream?
All I can give you now is silence,
a double-scoop of ice cream,
and to listen as you reminisce
As we watch the sun sink in the sea.

I miss my Dad so much, treasure the memories, and a write
that curled my toes with each word,

thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it. Sand and ice cream really are quite universal, I think!

This shows the support of the daughter in her father's time of need and a growing maturity in their relationship. Nicely done ~ thank you for sharing your memories of your dad.
All the best,
ea
