Broke And Still The King Of Love

Times are hard and money  gone,
homes lost and family alone.
Prayers remain and life goes on,
but the king of love left us not alone.

Valentines day and we
were all piled in a car,
and the children with tears
in their eyes hungry they are.
Being the man he knew
he had to get a plan,
so he walked about
and found a wild flower to make a stand.

The children laughed
as he handed it to their mom,
he told her happy valentines day hun.
It's not much I know but I didn't forget,
and their mom whispered it's the best gift yet.

The children found pieces
of paper in the old car,
and they made each other
valentines cards.
They read them each one
and asked will you be mine,
and the day was blessed
for a short time.

He told his family he had to go,
to find some work for food you know.
While he was gone the family
picked up aluminum cans,
and when he returned
love was shown once again.

Dad hadn't found work
and he was feeling down,
but when he saw them standing there
hope came back around.
They took the cans and sold them
then ate for the first time that day,
and whispered a prayer thank-you Lord
for the blessings received today.

Never give up in the eyes
of the children you see,
for they learn through us
through faith indeed.
Knowing if there is a will
there is a way,
to get the family
through one more day.

Hope, Love and staying together
to see each other through,
Is the key to survival
in all we do.
Find through prayer
good prevails,
even when a family
is in such dire need for help.

Keep the joy about you through the child,
touch one another hearts if not but with a smile.
Know God is watching and wont let you down,
even on valentines day homeless bound.

This is heartwrenching and unfortunately true for so many families. It is hopeful and the message well received. Today my prayers will be as always with those less fortunate. Count your blessings everyday for they are many!

    Blessings,

    Frogz~
