Of going back to bed

Pushed away the blanket
Bolster aside
Pillow so soft -- swept to the right
I reached out and grabbed my phone
Since I’ve been smiling these few days
Broken away
From some painful yesterdays
I thought
It might be you
It might be my very special you
Knowingly or not
Putting another smile on my sleepy face
Ah
That tune, the texts
Which carried along with them
A bountiful past of bliss and sometimes
The greatest grief
But it didn’t matter anymore
Because I have faith in you
-- If it’s you
You’d just plant another sweet memory
And with that I’d be embedded
With an ever-lasting smile

It’s a ‘Good morning’
‘Anyone with you on this special day?’
And a few other things
But oh, I thought,
Darling
My impossible Valentine
You’re special to me
Just so special to me
Every other single day.
Teased me
You joked you’d get me flowers
For somewhere in the past
I’d folded you a perfumed one
I’m just glad
As it came across your mind
It’s okay
Even when you repeated
We’re not together
Because, at least
I knew I came across your mind
I don’t care if you’re not mine

I’m just glad that you’re alright
Said you’re happy when I cared
And yes
I’m happy that you are
You stretched a warm smile on my face
Made my insides twist and turn
I’m just lucky
You are there
So my lovely Valentine

Maybe some things are better left
Unsaid
But in one way or another

I like this
This is really pretty. My favorite part is the fourth stanza, I like "impossible valentine" and "every other single day"...I know it's kind of a sad poem, but it makes me feel good somehow
Like a hope for a new beginning..
My least favorite part is the 5th because I'm not sure what the "perfumed one" is. Maybe a perfumed note? Also, if I were to revise it, I might change the first "valentine" in the last stanza so as not to repeat it too much. Just my opinion. I really like this alot, thanks for featuring

Well, when I wrote that I was actually feeling happy, and my then-unrequited love is now my girlfriend and we've been dating for the 8th month now! :-D
To answer your question, the 'perfumed one' was a paper rose I folded for her. I repeated the 'Valentine' on purpose for emphasis, haha! Because I was and am head over heels, lol!
