history class

i see the way
you slap your hand and forget to
promise another day in good health

ignorance growing from the tip of your green nose held up so high i thought you were trying to smell the sky

and its been
hundreds of years
and
we still don’t mesh our gears well enough to run this clock called time
counting down the moments till we reach an everlasting peace

i feel the moths eating out holes in my pockets
and all i want
is to write beat poetry

Author notes

today someone in my history class was so ignorant about things
i almost cried

stupid people = our biggest problem

And this definitely has a beat feel to it, I can hear it being recited in some underground coffee house in Greenwich Village. Do they still exist? Ignorance is inexcusable, it leads to terminal stupidity. I liked this, can you tell? I found it very refreshing and a great change of pace.

I like what this has to say, sometimes people can be so.... different. It's a wonder that we can even exist in the same places at all....
And yet, I guess history shows us that we can't really, can we?
    +sigh....+
ah.... xD you can probably tell, but this made me think

Really good poem. It's interesting & a little abstract with a very important/relatable theme.
