That young pretty child
Fresh, carefree and wild
Was born into a great big world
She was set up for greatness
With each step that was taken
She got closer and closer to that dream
Her life may seem perfect
Full of giggles and smiles
She seemed like the ideal happy child
But no one could see it
What she really was feeling
Behind each and every closed door
‘Cause that girl grew darker
Than the pitch black sky
And she never saw things the same way
There was always disappointment
‘Cause she always fell behind
Which means she was just another failure
‘Cause her friends dropped her
And no one stopped her
From sliding a blade across her arm
And her daddy left her
For something he saw as better
So that blade became her family too
‘Cause that blade never judged
And that blade made things better
Than anyone ever could
But what happens when a blade
Becomes your best friend
And then he fails you too
‘Cause he leaves marks behind
That raise even more questions
Than she could find words to dismiss
So she is betrayed once again
By her only friend
And left alone to fight this world
But what if the fighting
Becomes too much
And she says goodbye forever

This is beautiful. It's what so many kids feel like and you really portray the sense of loneliness. Great work!
