Till death do us part

As you crouch in the corner of the room,
shivering, your red soaked hands,
hold your knees in tight to your chest.

What have you done?
What have you done this time?
Why can you not see right from wrong?
Who will be the one to clear this mess?

I will.
I will keep this secret,
this secret that could end our lives.
This will be our secret for as long as we both shall live.

inspired by John Steinbeck's "Of Mice And Men"
