The Island's Dreams for the Heart



In the affections of our heart
I start out of my sleep to think,
not knowing when the dawn will come,

admitted, scarecely to itself, it may be,
the island dreams under the dawn,
where all's accustomed, ceremonious.

And now moves many a pleasant tongue
ungained it may be, by a life's love venture,
the nearest dream recedes, unrealized-

of heaven above the firmest proof
I waked, to find it first awake,
seeing that love and friendship are enough

we had fed the heart on fantasies,
and every comfortable thing.
Protecting, till the danger past.

    Love this one. Took me a couple of reads, but well done. Oh 5th line from the bottom should be woke, 3rd line from the bottom fantasies. Just helping out. Well done sis!

      Ok bubs, A cento is lines taken from another artist or artists and fused together to make something new. And I can't change the words you pointed out, as that is the way the other artist had them in their works..
