Dying in a fire is easy
when you are the flame,
you can turn and walk away
but first will you tell me your name
so that I can remember:
When I get to the gates of heaven
I can just mention that
the goddess sent me,
then I can walk on through
to catch a cloud to your wicked smile.
Falling down is painless
when I see the way you walk,
the swaying hips and endless legs
speak a language that I talk,
so that I can remember:
When I rabble rouse in the pits of hell,
I can scream without fear that
the goddess sent me,
laughing at the sight of demons
as I remember your heavenly eyes.
Yesterday’s agony forgotten
as you are here today,
the future is still our playground,
now I know you’re here to stay
so that I can remember:
The road to lasting love is never blind,
did you not see the signpost says that
the goddess sent me,
as we journey further on and on,
the two of us become one of a kind.

Chosen Prompt: Song Lyrics **OPTION 1**
Y. IN THIS LIFE[COLLIN RAYE]
~~Let the world stop turnin'
Let the sun stop burnin'
Let them tell me love's not worth going through
If it all falls apart
I will know deep in my heart
The only dream that mattered had come true
In this life, I was loved by you

First, thanks so much for the fresh write!
I love this write as a whole. It fits the prompt well and I love how you used irony with your words in the first two stanzas and how the third seems to bring it all together.
Great write! Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest
