It was valentines day and to my surprise,
two skunks cam a courting right before my eyes.
I stood very still to not stir them this day,
for two stinkers does not a happy valentine make.
I watched patiently to see what they would do,
and one brushed up against the other and I thought oh pew.
Before I knew it they were jumping about,
getting closer to me no doubt.
Sure enough they saw me and I knew right then,
I was gonna get sprayed and covered my face from the blend.
I screamed an yelled and my husband came out ,
and got about five feet and halted no doubt.
Oh my goodness, he replied !
And tears were streaming from his eyes.
I cried come and help me and he replied Oh no!
You go over there first and wet yourself down with a hose.
Misery it was and I gagged an heaved,
and knowing it was valentines day indeed.
I told my husband what will we do?
We have reservations we need to go to!
What else could he do he helped me inside,
I bathed and bathed but nothing went right.
I put on some perfume and we kept our plans,
we were known as the two stinkers in valentines day land.
That's what you call true love,
when your partner will go places when you smell like musk.
Only this here perfume was alive and well,
and would send others running saying oh hell.

This was funny, but I could feel the agony of getting sprayed by those buggers! Tomato juice helps remove the scent, and if you keep mothballs under or around your place, skunks seems to hate mothballs. (From one who found out the hard way.)
I liked how you expressed it, and felt the eww! of the characters within your piece. Nicely done, sweetie.

Priceless!! I have heard tomato juice works, don't know if that is true. Maybe if you drink it as a bloody mary then you won't care about the smell! Happy Valentines Day!

I have never been sprayed before but I have heard that it takes a ton of tomato juice to get rid of the horrid smell!!!!
