Heard this Fairytale?

Have you heard this fairy tale?
Set in the ages of valiant knights!
When Valor ruled the entire earth.
and Hero's won all their fights!

There was a princess quite beautiful
Cherry blossom cheeks and brown hair
But she was captive at the King's orders
Stuck in a dragon's fiery, cold, harsh lair.

The princess wanted to be let free
To see the world she never lived in
To meet a prince and fall in Love
But her father told her, it's a sin.

Have you heard this fairy tale?
Set in the ages of valiant knights!
When Valor ruled the entire earth.
and Hero's won all their fights!

Still she dreamed of being swept away
And there a boy stood outside her sill
On a sunshine filled day,"come on down"
He said and he motioned her still.

She jumped down the castle wall
Fleeing the King and her old world
She wanted a new world with him!
In his own halls with wealth unfurled!

Have you heard this fairy tale?
Set in the ages of valiant knights!
When Valor ruled the entire earth.
and Hero's won all their fights!

They said their very first vows
She was now in a joyful land
One she had wished for over again!
Where they had each others hands.

This princely knight had finally won

He had his princess and his kingdom

He had won his worthy cause, his fight

And he had his treasure, his valuable sum.

Have you heard this fairy tale?
Set in the ages of valiant knights!
When Valor ruled the entire earth.
and Hero's won all their fights!

This is a style that I have never been able to appreciate, I think simply because it's so predictable. And rhyme has always bothered me. So it is my personal preferences that keep me from loving this poem, but thank you for entering anyhow.

    • oh ic...

my apologies. my biggest fault as a contest judge is always that I am not specific enough.
