Tides

It's washing over me again
Crashing against my heart
Receding till I think of you

These feelings come in waves
Some stronger, some deeper
My heart flutters when you're near

Why is there a change
You confuse me so much
A moon affecting my tide

I've always gravitated toward you
Pulled in, only to be pushed away
You're drawing me back

I wonder if you know this
If you mean to lure me in
And steal my heart once more

But I also feel that maybe
You feel the pull as well
Maybe there's still something there

As I look into your eyes
I can't help but hope that
There's finally a chance
For me to be your moon
And for you to be mine

How did you feel when you read this?

It is really great. Another one for your collection of poems to be read over and over. The metaphors and emotions ring true and strong throughout the poem.

    Lovely

Ahh the imagery. You crafted it well! The moon and how it changes the tide is a splendid metaphor. It represents how my own feelings ebb as well. It's a great representation of human emotion - in particular love. You're such a soppy romantic! But I LOVE IT!!
