Yesterday's a New Day

Yesterday’s a new day

Tomorrow’s gonna suck,
Today, I’m out of luck,
But yesterday,
Yesterday’s a new day.

Hey, look at me,
Walking down the street
Cursin’ the air,
But the air doesn’t care.

You and I,
Both deserve to die,
And I can see the guilt,
In your eyes.

Cause life’s a boring game,
And love is all the same,
But yesterday,
Yesterday’s a new day.

He-y He-y he-y he-y
O-h

Cause I, just cant wait for tomorrow.
I just can’t wait here so long!

You always said you would,
I never thought you could,
But somehow you prove me wrong again.

What was a perfect dream,
Now fades to memory,
And I know that things will never be the same.

Life’s just a game,
Only room for two.
Unluckily,
That’s not me and you.

Cause love’s a drug,
And I just OD!
We should have stopped,
When we were tipsy.

But time just couldn’t wait,
That drug just left today,
But yesterday,
Yesterday’s a new day.

Today I’m all alone,
I’m stuck here on my own,
But yesterday,
Yesterday’s a new day

Author notes

It's more of a lyric song-poem

This is a good topic to choose, because love is something that almost everyone can relate too. It flows quite well, like a poem or lyrics should.

A few criticisms, though... your rhyming is very simple; pedestrian rhyme, as it is often called. Anybody could make these rhymes, and I know you have the potential to do better. Also, your wording and subjects are often very muddled, the poem overall is not very clear.

I wish you the best of luck, and keep writing and improving your poetry. ^__^

over-dosing on love. I can see that becoming an obsession
