Author notes
The left side tells one side of the story in a person's mind, and the right side tells the reality the other half person's mind. Both sides contribute to a whole story, even though they somewhat contradict. The brackets are kind of like thoughts or maybe a mirror, reflecting the truth on the right side, but the truth is backwards within the reflection and is hard to see unless you know how to read it. In life, the truth is often obscure if you don't know what perspective to take on things. I think that's symbolic of that. The other symbolic, errr, gesture that I used is that of the last line. I did that to represent how nothing is black and white, or so clear-cut. The truth may be confusing and you may not want to see the truth, but some parts of it are obvious. With fantasy and emotion, there is often confusion in the way and you may not think of something until you are hurt. In the end, that's what you see. The backwards or straightforward last line.
