A Holy Kiss

If not for the steady beat of Thine heart, Lord,
I'd not perceive eternity.
Were it not for Thy breath brushing my skin, Lord,
I would not know Thou wast near me.
If Thine holy kiss were not on my lips, Lord,
I would not know I wast near Thee.
Were it not for Thy wisdom and knowledge, Lord,
like one mute I'd not hear or see.
Thus, Thy sweet voice thundering in my ears, Lord,
confirms my life will ever be.
For by the persistent beat of Thine heart, Lord,
I comprehend heavenly kin;
and, by Thy breath always breathing for me, Lord,
I know Father keeps me from sin.
It is by Thine sweet kiss and morning hugs, Lord,
that devotion cannot wane thin;
and, by Thine endless wisdom and knowledge, Lord,
I love Thine Law; that life I win.
Yea, by Thine sweet, resonating voice, my Lord,
I shall sit near Thee in the end.
By the constant beating of Thine heart, my Lord,
mind—heart—way, one with Christ I be.
And, by Thy breath stirring across my soul, Lord,
brothers and sisters more will see
that by a holy kiss upon my lips, Lord,
I kiss them each as though 'tis Thee:
for by Thine gift of wisdom and knowledge, Lord,
some heard Thine Truth by Word through me;
that by Thy voice of many waters, my Lord,
they, too, shall gain eternity.

Just Stunningly Beautiful
Wow this is just a beautiful poem in which shows such a beautiful relationship with the Lord. Your imagery with emotion as well as your rhyme was flawless I thought. You shoud do very well in this contest. You are a increadible poetess and I feel honored I can call you my sister on here and in the Lord. Nothing like a Holy Kiss!!

Awww, thank you, my darling brother Tony. You've always championed me and my work, which keeps me going. I had hoped that returning to A/P would be different this time. Alas, back only a few months and the harassment, name-calling and nasty notes and, now, even reporting me to a Moderator! It seems that if you put any info about a published book in your Author Notes, it is considered spamming! How that is I don't know, since it is on my own work and no one has to read it if they don't like it. Since when did this become part of the definition of spamming? Don't you have to send something to someone for it to be spam?
