We met one day
on a sunny beach,
though a bit cliche
I was without speech.
He took me to dinner
at a placid place,
his smile, it glittered
when it lit his face.
Then he stared my way
his face intense,
what was he about to say?
the moment filled with suspense.
He looked at me
with his deep blue eyes,
replete with so much beauty
it could make a girl cry.
Sighing, with a tender expression
he knelt upon one knee,
time stood still for new love and a question,
as he boldly spoke, "will you marry me?"
on a sunny beach,
though a bit cliche
I was without speech.
He took me to dinner
at a placid place,
his smile, it glittered
when it lit his face.
Then he stared my way
his face intense,
what was he about to say?
the moment filled with suspense.
He looked at me
with his deep blue eyes,
replete with so much beauty
it could make a girl cry.
Sighing, with a tender expression
he knelt upon one knee,
time stood still for new love and a question,
as he boldly spoke, "will you marry me?"
Author notes
Had to use a title of a Robert Frost piece as inspiration for homework.
So that is my prompt.
I chose, "Love and a Question" My piece is nothing like his..

This is a beautiful poem Sam, And I am glad to here that Frost is an inspiration to you. I love his poetry as well. Who knows, with time you might emulate Frost himself. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem with me Sam, May you find that special boy, like in this poem, and keep poetry alive in your heart.
