Beware the charmed
Roping on the slopes
Throwing into the dust
the dutifully disarmed
What great calamity calls
haunting stampede
stomping through the hidden vale
Splashing about in the oncepure falls
The place where the sky wept upon the mountains
tears cascading across the cliffs
Like upside down fountains
Burning from the touch of greedy lips
Free
Is the mind
Let it list
Free
is not the lack of chains
Clapped on the wrist
Free are the charmed

Beautiful Artistry...
In line 3, did you mean to say: "Throwing" ? and in line 8: "once pure" ? Just curious... Methinks this is an excellent poem, Sir Demington, with outstanding imagery and use of metaphor.
Best wishes in the contest!!

I really like this one. There were some really interesting images, certainly some ones I'd never seen done before! The ryhme was nice and refreshing, not a robotic arm on it.
