Today Is So Much More

We've all heard the famous saying
"Today is the first day of the rest of my life"

Well not for me it isn't
For me today is so  much more

Today is the day I get over him
And I realize I don't need him

Today I forget about all her lies
And I burn all the pictures with her by my side

Today I promise myself I will not cry
And I won't let my smile die

Today I'll walk up to them and tell them how I feel
And exactly what they can do with my job

Today I become who I really am
And I know this is who I'll be to the end

    It's a very nice poem. A very nice and full of emotion.
    Favourite part was:
    "oday I forget about all her lies
    And I burn all the pictures with her by my side

    Today I promise myself I will not cry
    And I won't let my smile die

    Today I'll walk up to them and tell them how I feel
    And exactly what they can do with my job

    Today I become who I really am
    And I know this is who I'll be to the end"

    The final two lines really give a good message. I, personally, think it says love who you are until the very end and change for nobody.

    It's a very brilliant write. 10/10, Keep up the good work.

    This is a great write. the tone fits perfectly and it really draws you in. I can totally relate to this poem at this stage in my life and honestly it made me feel a range of emotions from anger to betrayal to relief and indifference. The sign of a great poet. Thanks for sharing : )
