Long after the sun has laid to rest
the birds have gone to roost
and the last shooting star boost
I sit and sigh, Ive done my best.
you sigh sleeply in deep sleep
I wonder what your dreaming
somewhere far away its seeming
where pain has taken eternal leap
and calm and quiet is all you know
sometimes I long for you to be there
happy and free without any care
where the winds of fortune blow
still you stir and I smile
and although tired I am content
I think sometimes this life i was meant
and I think I'll stay with you a while

Wow. This is really good, I'm not normally a fan of rhyming poems, but this stands out for me, I especially like the way you used the rhyme syllables

Like this one
I enjoyed the pensiveness of the poem, very well written.
