"Who will sing my song, when i am silent?
Who will count the colors of the dawn?
Who will follow the lark's flight,
Who will hear it's song,
when am I slient,
who will sing for me?
Who will scent the fragrance of a flower?
Who will laugh at snowflakes on the tongue?
Who will dance barefoot in the grass?
Spinning and twirling,
and spinning and twirling to welcome the warmpth..
of May.
Who will dance?
When I dance no more....
When I sing no more...
When I am silent, silent...
Who will cry for me?
Who will cry..."
(The song is called When I am Silent (A song for the girl at Auschwitz))
I have no right to cry.
There were so many people who had it so much worse than me.
Even though I have this heart break,
Even though I have a terrible heart-ache..
There are others who have had to starve to death.
be burnt alive,
killed for their beliefs.
Others who were never loved rightly before,
who have never had a family.
People who have had to live out on the streets their whole lives.
Others who have never experienced what its like to be cared about.
I have things that others don't, so instead of crying over a stupid boy,
I will sing her song when she is silent.
I will count the colors of the dawn, follow the lark's flight, and listen gladly to its song for her.
It is I who will scent the fragrance of the flowers, and will laugh at snowflakes on the tongue.
I will dance barefoot in the grass, spinning and twirling, and spinning and twirling, to welcome the warmth of May....
I will dance
When she can dance no more
I will sing
When she can sing no more.
I am crying for her.
