Trembling Heart

Heart, cold and burning
Weeping the tears
Of the full moon,
In frustration you beckon disaster.

Birds without wings
Tread on your veins
Hiding your worth
Beneath a bed of leaves.

You are not a woman
Yet you crave feminine companionship.
Their smiles shine gold
Across your crimson brow.

In the wine cellar
Beneath the armoured hills
You pour your soul into the oak
And wait for the mosquitos of air
To bring your old age.
The damp stone sweats dew
And a little drop finds its way
Through the oak, and adds
A melancholic fear to your being.

I know you only,
When you threaten me with silence.

A lava stream
At the waterfall's edge
Where I left
Tomorrow's memories.

I will tie a promise
To the garden gate
Of my next dream:
The next time you shiver
I will wrap a blanket of magnolias
Around your trembling shoulders.

Please tell me what you think
