Old Salem Limerick

I drove out to the hills of Salem
And drove around, looking for ail'em
To the town on my stay,
I had nothing to say.
So they grabbed me rough saying Jail'em!

Let me know How this makes you feel, what do you think?

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

"Ail'em" meaning to peck a fight? Or about driving under the influance and having no defense? Either way,it gives the giggles in reading.
