The Kitty Cat Ball

The kitty cat ball is held on the moon,
so answer the call and come to the dance.
The cat with the fiddle will play out a tune,
so stand in the middle, let's take a chance.

All of the kittens will dance with finesse,
some will wear mittens to cover their paws.
I’ll wear a hat and a pretty white dress;
don’t be a brat or I’ll show you my claws.

I’m so excited to be here with you,
we were invited to join in the fun.
The kitty cat dance is just for a few,
a kitty romance has just begun.

I’ll dance like a kitten high up on the moon,
this cat is smitten, don't burst my balloon.

    I absolutely love it

    So creative and that, by itself, reels me in.
    The added bonus for me: I love cats.
    Makes this guy feel good.

    Every line seems darn near perfect by the way.

    I loved this the first time I read it! It makes me smile! I especially love "don't be a brat or I'll show you my claws". I love the internal rhyme. It's deft and flawless.I also love how it adds a counterpoint to the end-rhyme. (I hope you like Bach!)

    This is wonderful! I love the internal rhyme in lines 3-4, but I'm wondering if there isn't a word you could add in line 4 for the sake of the rhythm. For example "So stand in the middle and just take a chance." I love the whole second stanza! Again, in both of these stanzas I love the internal rhyme! Ditto the last six lines! Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      humm... I wanted to keep it all penned in decasyllable. You made me think so I changed the word "and" to "let's" and added a stop. I think that works better. Thanks so much!

    So sweet it just dances along. And, the story is delicious.

    All of the kittens will dance with finesse,
    some will wear mittens to cover their paws.
    I’ll wear a hat and a pretty white dress;
    don’t be a brat or I’ll show you my claws.

    those are the best lines, but they're all great. You just keep turning out the best poetry on the sight!
