Lore of the Contemporary, Part I

My thoughts are Jumbled
Head in turmoil
Over the Sin and Punishment
Of this carousel world

Jill was my best friend
We locked hands, just once
And stared into the empty skies
Playing with cloud shapes
Laughing and
Embarrassing and
Just having fun together

Morgan was as my brother
Very possibly my lover
The only man I'd ever
Cried with

His hands beat my face in
When I whispered, "Love you."
I had to wonder just what...
Love really is?

Jill had to save me...
But the skies turned dark ash
The wrath of the earth ripped us in two
And she died with the happiest smile
I'd ever seen
On her ugly face

My brother my enemy
I was alone, for once
I stared into the bloody skies
And I ran all corners of the world
Crying and
weeping and
Just dying alone

But in my mind
I was caressing my friends
Keeping them warm in their worst of moments
Yet alive I was alone

Author notes

I'm working on something I want to be majestic.
