Thought the aching in my heart was love,
but I guess it was just infatuation.
I prayed to God, from up above,
to make this one an exception.
I loved him with all my heart
and more, if you must know.
I cried when we were apart,
when there, my heart was aglow.
He broke me like the others,
he shattered my heart in two.
I was hoping for a lover,
instead I landed you.
Love is just a delusion,
a lie, to tell little kids.
To cause them confusion,
believe? Heaven forbid.
Author notes
my sentiments exactly.

a nicely penned piece
-
He broke me like the others,
he shattered my heart into.
I was hoping for a lover,
instead I landed you.
I really like this part, should it read ' in two ' ??
Sad poem. Well written has a nice flow to it.
