Hearing humming in the hallway,
While watching them go by
No one will speak, they'll not
Tell me what to say.
"Oh, please show me the door."
There are shadows in the corner growing,
Stretching, reaching out to swallow
My secrets, whole and silent tonight.
"Oh, please point to the door."
My heart is free-falling
Into this creeping carpet,
I cannot wait for an answer,
From this silent humming hall.
My foot is etching circles, itching,
To leave this dirty floor behind.
"Oh, please open the door."
Soft footfalls come down
And my eyes rise up,
Hearing rusty bolts creaking,
And the only door opening,
To unveil my Neverland.
