I Pleaded

Missing image

I begged, I cried,

as tasteless tears detoxify.

My dim, dried out pupils,

lost their emerald light.

I‘d climb up prayers,

to liquefy my spiritual sight.

Icicles, lacerate thin skin,

piercing me perfectly numb.

Fading in a faithless soul,

silenced in the shadows of a rose.            I pleaded…

I must admit to being distracted by the candles in reading the last part of this. However, the poem was good. I enjoyed it and it does have some nice imgaery to it as well. Lovely job here.

beautiful as only you can write poeticweaver.
It is my opinion that we have poor judges in AP and I don't give a damn what they think. This poem is pure gold. Happy Valentines day poet.

I'm impressed. much here, not dictated by exprsssionism as such, which forms around us, by these words of yours, as immensely content, and abundantly so full of peace. Plead be not the case, only those reading this will compromise. I only comment on writes worthy of some honorary degree. Titian

Contest assignments such as this one I find difficult to do, but you have managed to imagine an intense poem from it. The despair from efforts unrewarded speaks from the words. Kudos, brother, I wish you the best of luck in the contest. I enjoy your creativity. Take care.

This is so powerful. You have used such beautiful words to make this poem.

    My favourite lines are:

    as tasteless tears detoxify.

    My dim, dried out pupils,

    lost their emerald light.

    And:

silenced in the shadows of a rose. I pleaded…

These particular lines i thought made the poem so special.
This was an amazing poem, thank you for sharing.

    Keep writing,
    Holly.

very few words were used in this piece, but it is no less powerful than a poem that has many stanzas. the words you chose and the way you used them, went together perfectly.

    "Fading in a faithless soul,

silenced in the shadows of a rose. I pleaded…"

very deep, and it cranks my mind into thinking gear.

    He heard you Bro...
or was it she in mountain mist of magic tree,
such a prayer to cleanse and grow
when winter tires of ice and snow,
    and sun grows warmer inspiration...
