Winter Flavored Spring

In the midst of branches reaching up to fluffy, grey sky,
A thousand blossoms unfold, loosening winter ties
One snowflake falls
                      icy kiss meeting blushing bloom
Calling a million more down through cherry-flavored fumes

Spring whispers a tune, blowing in a breeze
Twisting, twirling, and dancing through trees
Sending petals awhirl
                    pulled off of their feet
To spin playfully along with the down of sleet

The stone lips of Old Man Winter twitch into half a smile
Spring's lovely lashes flutter over hazle eyes, soft and mild
Beholding their collaboration,
                      souls content, hearts at rest
plum blossoms laying peacefully on ground's snowy breast

Wonderfully written. I didn't know Old Man Winter could smile! Thankfully, he knows when he has overstayed his welcome!

    Very nice ...

and even more so since I'm not a fan of free verse at all. I did like this one, however.

Congratulations on the shiny trophy too.

Hey! How did I miss this?!

I can't wait until spring!! This has me even more spring fevered! I'm just not a big fan of winter.

This is so serene, I love the Old Man Winter line...I can just picture it. You've painted a beautiful picture!

    Excellent, as always

    Bravo

Quite the beautiful picture you've painted there.

    "icy kiss meeting blushing bloom"

"Spring's lovely lashes flutter over hazel eyes, soft and mild"

"plum blossoms laying peacefully on ground's snowy breast"

Those lines, IMO, are poetry in it's finest. You did a terrific job with this piece.
