for that one last chance to perfect your rhyme,
maybe, the bulb in your head will suddenly light,
or, maybe, you were never really meant to write.
Your can never get your rhythm quite right,
they say it's good, but they are just being polite.
You can never think of anything original or "special,"
but you can't help but hope to one day excel.
Maybe your dream of writing just isn't meant to be,
but with any career in writing there is no guarantee,
so, for now, you are just another unknown writer,
waiting to be known, and make the world brighter.
Author notes
original last line: "waiting to be known for your lightbulb, and make the world brighter." but it was too long and rhythm didnt work...
original first 2 lines: "You look harder, hoping to find something to switch,
the words don't quite fit, maybe your brain has a glitch;"
i know the title isnt used in the poem, but i like it, so deal with it.

Cute...
I love this poem. I think it's cute. It made smile and I even laughed a little. What you say is true though. Some people are not meant to be poets or wrighters. I just hope I am... Great right. I like it.

Nicely put.
Interesting poem.
It makes you think. And I liked the last two lines especially.
It gave me something to think about in a world filled with technology, an ipod or TV can never replace words that are so deep you could drown in them.
