My grandad fought your grandad it went on for years
>
> The blood of the british and blood of prussia both shed
so many tears
or
They were both neighbours who didn't get on
I think the battle escalated from a dispute
over an over hanging plum tree in the back garden
What followed was carnage
A world war of epic proportions
which left 60 million dead across the globe
in its aftermath
what I learn from this
is everyone needs good neighbours
a good neighbour
can be a good friend or can be right pain in the arse.
kicking off for no reason in the night a bit like george bush
or someone who bums all your stuff ....not like Dan who's a good neighbour but one who sometimes I need to explain more whimsical celtic notions. id much rather do this though than have to repel him in a panzer tank, his blue eye glittering in his gunsight
I'm glad Dan is my friend and its so sad the grandads had to go to war.
Author notes
In memory of my mate Dan known as Von Heppe on this site, who sadly passed away
last year. He read his poems in many pubs in Wales and England and his work was very popular. We wrote this together.
