Hero(ine)

I know where you got your strength:
from the hardships you go through.
The same place where you got your breath
to do what you could do.
Even your walk across the room
  is an inspiration,
like a dance to the tune
        of the Lord’s Salvation.

The rhythm of your spoken word
is the beat of His heart.
It’s to your voice that I’ve heard,
  and sing like a lark.

Goodness is measured by the Father,
  shown in infinite meter.
It is exemplified in no other
  than in His Son’s features.

Silent heart and quiet mouth,
  the marks of your disposition.
Discernment that’s wise and devout,
  and derides carnal intuition.
You seem like someone whom I know
  with your unearthly presence.
I turn to a higher court, all to show,
your source is of higher essence.

I know where He got His strength,
by the hardships He went through.
The same place where He got His breath
and did what He could do.
Even His walk in His life
  is an inspiration,
      like a dance of sacrifice
        for the Lord’s Salvation.

The rhythm of the living Word,
is the beat of the Father’s heart.
It’s to His voice that I’ve heard,
  and fly like a lark.

    A Tribute...

... to the value of another's testimony in our lives... At least, that's what I pulled from this piece.

I liked the cadence and structure of it- very nice.

I don't like religious poetry either. I just like to write about what the Lord has shown me. I'm glad you found it inspirational.

Yours is the kind of comment I appreciate the most, for its candor.

      Christ bless you!

this was the most beautiful poem i've read today.thank you for posting it and reminding me that without Him I am lost.
you've touched me with your words, which is what we are supposed to do if we would call ourselves true believers.

    AWESOME,
This was just beautiful, and every word so true, and what a lovely way to describe your love and devotion to our Lord by penning all his wonderful qualities, and by describing his awesome love for all of his children that love and believe in him. BRAVO!
