It wasn’t meant to be this way
We said goodbye, and I meant it
You were supposed to go your way
And I was supposed to go mine
My relationship was supposed to make me happy
And yours was you too
We weren’t made to be in each other’s lives
And our paths weren’t supposed to cross
You were meant to be
And are hers
Me, I don’t know
Who was I meant to be with?
Sat here now, today
I’m left thinking and feeling
I was never meant to get involved
I was never supposed to love someone else’s boyfriend
And the final thought is, “I was never meant to feel this way”.
