Starvation of an afterthought,
encroachment leaving signs,
signals, portents of a facsimile;
renditioned thoughts captured,
my own originality pillaged.
Replacement with a construct,
a replica of lost creativity,
clones marching single file,
feeble army advancing until
inspiration strikes them down.
Author notes
Prompt: Write a poem of ten lines or less using a seven letter word beginning with the letter 'R'.
Word Chosen: Replica
This piece is about being stuck in a rut creatively and how sometimes no matter what you write, it seems you have gotten stuck on writing on the same subject, or using the same words or ideas, so each piece seems to be like a little replica or clone of the one that went before.

I agree, very original and also well done. I love it when someone steps outside the proverbial box and runs with it. Bravo!

I like this a lot. I tend to write about the same things over and over. If only I would expand my vocabulary....Great write!
