A Wanderer's Elegy

From time to time
I sink my teeth into
The fruit of humanity
Just to pass on
The sun's caress.

When I found you
You wore a crown of tears
And aiming a bow of hatred
Towards the skyline
Around your heart.

You had forgotten
The beauty you wore.

I saw perfection
Where you left curses.

I don't know what it was
That made you love me
After I spoke to you.

You would laugh
So heartfully
When I would tell you
I have no country
- I was serious.
With my hair
Between your teeth
You would run your hands
Up and down my dark face
Like it was a sun
Without flames.

I only saw you twice;
At the foot of the hill
And in the hidden bay,
Always far from
The wooden balconies.

You never wanted to go back home
On your own,
"You like travelling
So you won't mind
Escorting me home"
She would say
With a grin of streams.

The last time we
Saw each other,
As I was taking you home,
You held on to my arm
So tightly; I knew
I was only holding the wind.
Putting your head upon
My shoulder, your hair
Felt like the waves
Of the new sea.
When you kissed me
Outside your door
You didn't know
You were just kissing a dream.

I lied to you,
That is who I am,
Only the sunset is sincere.
But I don't believe I hurt you
In me what you saw
Was a whim - of liberty.

My lips were nothing
But new lips,
Our time together
Nothing but a rare journey.

I travel through hearts
Like I travel serene roads.
I never stay to drink
From a fountain;
I put it in my water bottle
And drink it
With the latest silence.

Please tell me what you think
