Sand Pipers
leaving soft prints
visible on wet sand.
Side by side
wanting nothing more than
to fly.
Water up reaching their try.
Hurry..
Run away
from the cold fast foam.
Stay dry is
In their glance..
While
Walking in an opposite..
Trance.
Their vantage point
A wing apart.
Their song..
Familiar and tender
walking
side by side.
Author notes
I wanted to write a poem about Sand Pipers.
They are quick and gentle...
Nice to watch while on the beach
especially when there is no one around.

this is beautiful. The thought of little bird prints in wet sand is beautiful and I have a picture my son took of just that. Later I will dig it out and after the contest I'll send it along to you. Thank you for entering.

Thank you..
This is one of those times when a memory just engulfs something inside where you have to write about it.
Not really complete till you do.
Thanks glad you liked it and for the future picture

good imagery
Good imagery in this piece. I like the use of the word Foam to describe the waves. Made me smile. What also made me smile was the wish to fly. Its a subtle piece. But Im pleased I read it.
Well done on a good write.
