    This film is cool

Thanks for raising this old banger of a film. Paper moon is awesome up there with Grapes of Wrath thanks ea for bringing this film to attention out of all the films viewed this month this was by far my favourite. It reminds me of a current discourse going on with Eastenders at the moment with Dot Cottons son and Dots sons daughter who is under duress by Dj Hype to gain Dots life savings. Just goes to show now that BBC know there onions too. Thanks EA.

I guess I was too young at the time to see this film, though I remember something of the hubbub about it.

I wonder what the literal translation of the film's title was for them. It is often so unrelated to the English title here in Germany that I don't realize people are talking about the same movie.

I don't know the British comedy Harvey Moon series, just the old song, "Shine on Harvest Moon" - this poem lit up in white like a billboard as I scrolled down and just as suddenly went out like a lightbulb as if the film had come to an end just as I hit the last line. I like "the cheap affordable effect" and the way you talk about the poster in relation to the industry. The last lines are very good - thought provoking - I was wondering why I was holding onto this contest uncharacteristically long.
