Face of Pain
Look into the childrens' eyes, a good look at their faces
Just like old ones who have seen too many places
They don't have a thing to lose. They know they'll never gain
Staring right back at you with a face of pain
Look at them as they grow up. There aren't so many now
Here and there, to this and that we've lost a few somehow
When you're living hand to mouth it's hard to take the strain
Calculating, harder now see the face of pain
Face of pain is watching you
Is there something you could do?
Don't go running in disdain
From the face of pain
Not too many reach old age. See their wrinkled eyes
They know what they've missed in life; seen through all the lies
Stiff faced now. What can they say? It's no good to complain.
Slowly death settles on the face of pain
Face of pain is watching you
Is there something you could do?
Don't go running in disdain
From the face of pain
Don't go running in disdain
From the face of pain
From the face of pain
Author notes
This wan't the song I intended to put here, but I came across it in the heap and changed my mind. Kinda bluesy social comment type thing. Take a listen. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=45745&content=music
