Lazy blood red fingers
splaying across the firmament,
captured by a thought
at sunset’s last moment,
seemed frozen for eternity
as mighty dreams began
to unfurl like a brazen standard.
Dreams of the beauty,
oft spreading unnoticed,
tantalizing and out of reach,
of a Universe so unknown
that for the eye to see,
even without comprehension,
would break the heart with wonder.
So the dream strides further
towards the farthest reaches,
with keen gaze searching,
hope aflame within the soul,
that somewhere out there
amongst the mist of stars,
we can find curious eyes gazing back.
As the fire in the sky dwindles,
the banner of night spreads,
extinguishing the daily flame;
looking upon each twinkling speck
makes the dream more vivid,
as the imagination soars,
stretching our minds across eternity.

Wow, this was a very unique write, I felt like I was reading the beginning of a novel! Or it could be the beginning of a very good book. You chose a nice title and gave it personality and thought. Well done!

This was written really well.
