that rain down the cheeks of similar streams
and you pour your heart into a glass
that's half empty.
mumbled verses slip away
into vacant eyes that once
told you lullabies
driving to redeem his death,
and you wept at the sound
of your mother crying,
stuck on repeat throughout the night.
that tree will always be there;
your black rainbows
lost in bloom,
just remember it's okay to cry.
i'll never leave you alone,
and you'll never forget where he
took his last breath
on his way up to the sky.
