Sometimes being mad is the easiest thing to be.

Screaming and shouting
And shouting some more
My voice getting higher and louder
I know this isn’t me, but I can’t stop

“YOU SAID YOU WOULDN’T HURT ME”
Silence descends on the room
“DIDN’T YOU” I demand
“YOU said you wouldn’t hurt me”

“Please don’t do this”
“This isn’t you”
His voice softens the atmosphere
And my body tenses up

My heads screeching at me
“TELL HIM WHAT YOU THINK OF HIM!”
But my hearts softly whispering
“You still love him”

“I still love you
Trust me I do
But we just can’t be together”
He starts to say

“NO, if you LOVED me
You would NOT be doing this to me”
I start to scream
The tears start pouring and my voice gets louder

Collapsing to the floor
Hot heavy tears pouring from my eyes
At that moment I realise
Being angry and mad at him is so much easier than admitting I’m hurt.

    how true that is! it is much easier to be angry than to be sad and vunerable , but, give yourself sometime to grieve a loss too. its your right to do so. great write.

    You can't have someone who'll never hurt you because we can inadvertantly hurt people in every day life.

    Taking a stand, standing up and saying no enough. That's excellent.

    Good write! Hurt is almost always preceeded by mad. If the word "Loved" is their quote, then it is past tence and they already know this outcome.
