As long as I can remember I've hated V.D.
Like Charlie Brown waiting for the card that never came
V.D. leaves me empty longing for what I have not
Cold bitterness has frozen the heart incapable of a flame
An aged wilting flower will die left alone
A garden never watered will become a desert
Weeds of discontent choke and poison any life
The fertile ground dies when trampled like dirt
Enjoy your diseased filled fantasy and let me be
I will escape to enjoy an illness of another kind
While you defile your bed with empty heartless lust
I will be alone in mine free and unconfined

As I read this I found sadness in this sweets
And like Amera the first line made me smile....
So many get everything on this day from roses to chocolates while others get nothing
Very well written my friend
Please forgive me in being late reading yours just not been well at all

The primary motive behind Valentine's is MONEY. And plenty of it! Hallmark is cleverly cashing in on the sales of Valentine's Day greeting cards. The same with people who sell flowers, candy and cute cuddly bears. They all do this under the guise of something called Love.
They do this while making single people feel sad, degrading them. Society forces you to feel inadequate and less of a person because you are not involved in a "RELATIONSHIP". They alienate you because you choose to be celibate. They ostracise you because you are content with a romanticless relationship. They surround you with sickening displays of kissing, cupids, hearts, and public displays of affection until it forces you to puke!
I love Valentine's Day. It's the one time I can gaurantee getting tea in bed
Cool, clever poem.

This is very sad but I like it, especially the metaphors. I also have never been one to be sucked into the hype of valentines day. Personally I think its just a reason for people to act inconsiderate every other day of the year but that is besides the point. This was very well written and I enjoyed it! Actually I think it just made my favorite list

Sad poem, The first line made me grin as you used that abbreviation but you penned the loneliness so very well.
Love,
Amera♥

V.D.
oh and the V.D. was intentional. I purposely refer to this day as V.D. meaning to imply exactly what that abbreviation often does. -
Thanks
I wasn't trying to express loneliness or write anything well. It was just a cold, bitter rant. But thanks for the compliments and sympathy.
