Open disc drive
Insert formatted disc
Load software
Install to hard drive
Run Program
Watch as the screen turns black
And words begin to appear on the screen
Telling you of possible actions
Possible outcomes
Infinite possibilities
The words begin to jumble together
As your eyes lose focus
So many possibilities
Its almost overwhelming
But you knew it would be
You found the disc
Placed within your desk drawer
By the ones who came before you
On the front, one word was scrawled in Sharpie
“Future”
You installed the disc
You ran the program
It asks you if you wish to continue
If you wish to take your life in your own hands
You type one word …
.execute//
Please tell me what you think

wow Justin! I think this relates very closely to the fight you and Alex are helping me atempt to win, the fight to get out of the shadows of my friends and not just help other people, but actually take care of myself. I get closer every day to that goal and for all the times I stumble along the way you and Alex are there to help me up and keep going. So I do want to thank you both for that! I know your right and I need to stop hurting myself for the things Corynne does that I can't change, and maybe someday I can, even though it seems imposible right now.
o.O long comment...

Brilliant thought here. The images are excellent, the way that you penned this, personifying life into the computer and the way that we can use it to determine fate.

I think you need to put this in a contest!

!!!!
wow.
This is really creative and very deep.
I absolutely loved it, and it creates a vivid mental image in my head. Wonderful post.
One thing I think you could make better is that you change tenses in the middle of the poem and I think you should keep in consistant.
Perhaps instead of "you found the disc," you should put find the disc
and in the last section, make installed install and ran run.
Those are only minor things though! At first I was unsure of how you were going to fit in the word execute, but you did a perfect job.

I love the metaphor, Justin! Seriously. Haven't seen you write in ages, nor have I been online much lately, but I'm glad I came on to catch this. I love it.
