The Travelling Man...

Years have passed since he left home
Set out strong the world to roam
Sun was high as he strolled along
Listening to Mother Natures song

All he had in the world was a canvas sack
Slung over his shoulder hanging down his back
He whistled a tune as he marched along
Keeping in time with Natures song

People he met as he went on his way
Some he liked wanted him to stay
But the glint in his eyes glowed like a fire
He was up and away..it was his desire

To be free on the road no ties to bind
No bills to pay no rent to find
He worked for his food and he worked very hard
Not for him 9-5 or a business card

He made many friends as he followed the road
Spent as much time talking to lighten his load
At the end of the day he sleeps where he can
Deep in his heart hes a travelling man

Please tell me what you think

      Thank you Cyn xx

A poet is more than I would ever admit to being...I play with words in hope that some day someone will hear what I have to say...and maybe one day my words will come together in such a way as to bring a smile...a laugh...a sense of wonder..to raise an eyebrow....or simply to acknowledge that here too was a man who lived and understood and cared...thanks for commenting..it honours me...Dan xx
