You are the source of my sweetest thoughts,
Though they aren't the honey of bees.
Look to the fruit of much darker plots
For the bitter but sweet taste of these.
You give rise to my hottest desires
Though the ways of our world bid beware:
This, will the heart spark destructive fires.
But what force save time can snuff a flare?
Fire, water, wind, what diff'rence does it make?
Famine, pain, shame, disdain is gladly borne
When I with you spend time for time-spent's sake.
How long think they can we apart be torn?
My Love, for you I will mountains move
If my love for you I cannot prove.

to a friend whose parents just don't want us together.
Is this good enough to give as a birthday present?

That is so sad. Why don't they want you together. I believe if the heart is fair and true, then nothing can stoip two hearts from uniting. I thought this piece was just wonderful and the flow and rhythm just perfect. True love knows no bounds. Keep the spirit up and the heart will endure for your friend.
