Who is this person
I used to call friend?
Where is the girl
Who used to lend me her shoulder
And who let me lend her mine?
What happened to her?
I don't know this stranger
Who walks in her body...
When did the change occur?
I suppose I should have seen it coming
As slowly she shrank into this...
I can only sit and stare
Wondering at this being
As shots of whiskey tumble down her throat
And as she staggers away
To a stranger's bed
To spend the night
I watch in horror
As the one I called my sister
Abandons all we had in common
For a drink and then a man
I can only watch her fall
For she has given up on herself
And refuses to catch a limb
On her way down
